VASER Hi Def LIPOSCULPTING
- WHAT IS HI-DEF VASER LIPO?
What is VASER? VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance – this is advanced Ultrasound technology and offers the ability to minimally traumatize both the fat and the surrounding structure by the process of “Acoustic Streaming”.
VASER Lipo can produce impressive results after treating areas of fat with ultrasound energy, allowing the more gentle removal of fat cells with a lower suction pressure than traditional liposuction. This better preserves the integrity of the fat cell and is performed through a small tube inserted under the skin at naturally occurring lines that help to hide the small scars once healed. Besides being gentler on the body this minimally invasive process is highly effective, giving patients the smooth contours they want with less surrounding tissue injury than a traditional liposuction procedure. VASER Lipo technology discerns the difference between fat and the surrounding connective tissues. This ensures no nerves or blood vessels are damaged during the procedure. The Hi Def technique creates an enhanced definition of the underlying muscle structure to give you a more sculpted and athletic appearance from head to toe.
- WHAT AREAS ON THE BODY CAN YOU VASER?
ALMOST ANYWHERE! Especially the hard to alter natural fat deposits due to aging, genetics and health concerns:
Torso and Abdomen: re-define the abdomen muscles- 6 Pack Abs, Waistline slimming and height adjustment, Pectoral Definition for men and Breast Enhancement for the ladies, Back – remove “bra bulges”, give men the “V” shape desired
Shoulder/Upper Arm: delineation of muscle packed form definition
Legs: thighs, calves, and ankles
Buttocks: refine definition and form
- WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REGULAR LIPOSUCTION AND VASER Hi Def?
–REGULAR LIPO: Traditional liposuction is a method in which the surgeon first injects through a small incision a tumescent numbing fluid into the fat deposits. A cannulae (tube) is pushed through the fat layer to break up the fat tissue with then next a suction pump attached to draw the fatty tissue out of the body. After Lipo, there is typically substantial bruising for up to 14-21 days. Skin irregularities and bumps can occur.
–VASER Hi Def: To create an advanced sculpting technique, Dr. Moretz takes a significant amount of time to first mark the body before surgery and identifies by palpation both your muscle forms and their tendinous attachments. Using VASER Hi Def, he removes fat around muscle groups, making muscles look more defined and enhanced. First, during the procedure, ultrasound energy is used to treat unwanted fat, loosening the cells from other tissues so they can be accurately removed by lower pressure suction. VASER surgery has generally little bruising in the recovery period. Ultrasonic energy improves skin smoothness by inducing overall skin retraction.
-Autologous Fat Transfer Procedure (AFT) and 4D VASER Lipo: Fat cells removed during VASER Lipo procedures are typical of high quality, and are viable to re-introduce into the body. VASER ultrasound causes expanding and collapsing bubbles in the tumescent fluid safely breaking up adipose tissue for extraction. This creates space between the fat cells without disrupting the fat cells themselves. This benefits AFT (Autologous Fat Transfer). Unlike short lasting synthetic fillers, re-injecting your own fat cells will give you natural looking results that last longer, with no risk of rejection.
-4D VASER Lipo: The process of combining VASER Hi Def Lipo and AFT is what allows Dr. Moretz to use your natural fat in the same way a sculptor uses clay to change the anatomy and physique. With this being your natural tissue, the body ages naturally and all at the same rate after the procedure, there is no risk as can happen with synthetic fillers.
Into what areas can fat be transferred? AFT is an individualized procedure. Dr. Moretz determines during a consultation the patient’s signs of natural aging as well as understands their aesthetic desire. Using this knowledge and his sculptor’s eye for beauty, a unique plan is designed. Autologous Fat is ideal for natural youthful colonization of the face, augmentation of the breast as well as the buttocks, with the Brazilian Butt Lift.
Stem Cells: The presence of numerous stem cells in fat tissue is well documented. These stem cells and other regenerative factors are also transferred during AFT. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is under study as to its additional benefit to AFT tissue longevity. The potential addition for PRP to one’s procedure can be discussed with Dr. Moretz at consultation.
- DOES IT HURT? HOW LONG IS RECOVERY PERIOD?
During VASER surgery, 7.5 times less blood loss occurs than with traditional liposuction. After the VASER Lipo procedure, patients wear special compression garments to help skin contract smoothly to the body’s new contours. A short period of rest (typically 12 hours) is recommended. Dr. Moretz instructs patients to gently walk up to a mile a day being the day after surgery. Two to three weeks of general recovery is recommended before strenuous activities should be begun.
- HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
It is important to note that any form of liposuction is not a weight-loss solution; you can gain the weight back after surgery. This procedure is intended to remove areas of stubborn fat in a person who is otherwise fit and healthy.
AFT tissue has a significant long-term benefit. Studies are being conducted to see what modality of fat cell procurement is the best. In Dr. Moretz opinion, and noted in clinical studies, VASER Lipo obtained fat is living cellular material and highly viable for the potential of long-term survival and results. Dr. Moretz frequently discusses retention of volume upwards of 55 to 65%.
- DOES INSURANCE COVER HI-DEF VASER?
- Who is a candidate?
Anyone who is medically a candidate for surgery and has excessive fatty deposits is a candidate. Health considerations to discuss with Dr. Moretz include chronic medical conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, blood clotting disorders, heart, lung, or circulatory system disease, or vascular problems, including common circulation problems and coagulation problems associated with certain medications. Inform the doctor if you have any of these conditions or are in doubt. The following conditions may also affect the safety or effectiveness of VASER Lipo:
Presence of collagen, scarring, or connective tissue disorders;
Presence of stretch marks or potential for stretch mark formation;
Endocrine disorders; and
Pregnancy or the possibility of pregnancy.
